There’s so much info out there that tells us how to be well, especially this time of year. And these days we all know that to be well we might need to improve our diet, fitness, sleep or stress levels, but where’s the right place to start for you? Wellness might mean something entirely different to you than it does to others. Which is why we want to help you discover what really matters to you about your own wellness, with health insights that are personal to you.
Your starting point – how do you currently feel?
The first step we’re taking to give you personalised insights, is our wellness questionnaires within the Evergreen Life app. These questionnaires are based on clinically-approved research that give useful insights into your health and wellbeing.
In our wellbeing survey from last year, we found that 76% of people thought that feeling happy was the biggest contributing factor to their overall wellness. We know that how we currently feel can determine how we go about our approach to our health and wellbeing.
So, our first set of questions focuses on how you currently feel about your sense of wellbeing to initially give you an idea of how you feel overall about your wellness, which includes areas like happiness, life satisfaction, and how worthwhile our lives feel. It’s only four questions, but it’s been found to give the best indicator nationally on how we feel about our wellbeing.
How the UK’s wellness measures up
In the UK, we’re facing a huge health challenge – it’s affecting our quality of life and costing our NHS billions every year. With conditions such as stress, diabetes and heart disease becoming prevalent much earlier in our lives, the UK spends the last 20 years of their life in ‘ill health.’ But, did you know that in other countries such as Sweden, they only have as little as four years of ill health? What do you think we can learn from others, and about ourselves to increase our wellness years?
