Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a driven and dependable Senior Software Engineer to deliver an ambitious roadmap of new products and features. Through your work, you will help to empower people to take control of their own health, wellbeing and fitness. Guided by data-driven insights, you will work with healthcare professionals to provide meaningful change in societal health.

You’ll join a team devoted to the development of a highly rated iOS & Android App and the cloud infrastructure to support it. You’ll be leading scrums in creating clean mobile and web user interfaces, robust serverless back-end code, and using data-driven analysis to inform everything you do.

You’ll get the opportunity to work with the latest devices, from mobiles to wearables, finding ways to streamline their operation and empower users to gain meaningful insights from their personal health record.

Part of your role will focus on developing brand new features within our stack. The functionality you deliver will run in a cloud environment, utilising containerisation and serverless technologies to deliver a highly available and resilient solutions to support our App.

  • Work on features for a cross-platform health and wellbeing App including making use of integration with wearables and device-level APIs
  • Produce features for a modern, cloud-based software infrastructure
  • Deliver quality through test-driven development (TDD) and exploration of the work delivered by the whole team
  • Operate and maintain our platform in production
  • Collaborate with design and UX teams to deliver user delight
  • Collaborate within a skilled, cross-functional team to shape our products, and the technical solutions we adopt in order to deliver them
  • Actively contributing to technical decisions through discussions, white-boarding, evaluations, and investigations
  • Operate within a value-centric workflow, where each work item is a valuable deliverable that you will take from specification through to deployment in production
  • Participate in knowledge sharing with the team
  • Aid the continuous improvement of the team
  • Work as a scrum master to drive frequent release iteration

Required skills

  • Core proficiencies & idealexperience:
  • Cross-platform Android/iOS Appdevelopment stacks
  • Web development stacks
  • Node.js primarily usingJavaScript and to a lesser extent TypeScript
  • React primarily using TypeScript
  • Document data stores,specifically MongoDB
  • Containerisation using Docker
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Test Driven Development
  • Git, Git Flow, Pull Requests
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Strong design patterns knowledge
  • 4+ years commercial experience

Desirable and additional skills

  • CI, TDD, BDD, IaC
  • Cordova
  • Swagger + API Gateway
  • SRE/DevOps environments
  • Certifications (e.g. AWS, CEH)
  • Serverless technologies such as AWSLambda
  • Knowledge of Node.js Express,GraphQL or Apollo
  • Jira, Confluence
  • Healthcare-related softwaredevelopment
