Evergreen Life is delighted to announce the acquisition of Salvie Ltd, creators of the askmyGP online consultation and workflow system that connects patients with their GPs. We will work collaboratively with askmyGP to strengthen relationships with GP providers, Clinical Commissioning Groups, health boards, and Primary Care Networks to help them manage case loads whilst empowering people to be in control of their own health, care and wellbeing.
The acquisition presents a valuable opportunity for both companies to harness the others’ expansive technical expertise and software experience, as well as benefit from the resources that come with being part of the larger Evergreen Group. This will enable a wider scope of operations in primary care and increased patient engagement, helping both companies progress towards their shared vision of facilitating better access to healthcare for individuals.
askmyGP extends reach of people powered health
Patients and carers can use askmyGP to quickly and simply outline their issue in their own words. With the inputted information passed directly to the practice, busy surgery teams can efficiently triage patients, assigning the appropriate priority to each individual.
askmyGP manages the case load of over 2 million patients and now expands Evergreen Life’s primary care footprint to include online consultations, including secure video and messaging. Individuals can be assured they always receive medical advice from trained NHS professionals via these newly enabled digital channels, further developing the trust between patient and clinician.
COO of Evergreen Life, Mark Hindle, says:
“We believe in putting the individual at the heart of their own healthcare, so people can be empowered to get the health and wellbeing they want and get access to support when they need it. askmyGP is leading the way in person-centred solutions by making it easier for patients to talk to their own doctor and help GPs to prioritise and deliver care through message, phone and video. By working together and through the new Evergreen Connect platform, we can join up more areas of the health and care system as part of our mission to deliver People Powered Health.”
CEO and Founder of askmyGP, Harry Longman, adds:
“We are joining a company well-established in the healthcare technology industry and one we will complement in being able to offer more to patients, GPs and other healthcare providers.
askmyGP enables over 200 GP practices around the UK to manage their workflow and respond to patient demand with outstanding service, 79% of requests resolved the same day.
Patients will benefit from a wider range of services and communications with their GP, and through the Evergreen Life app will be able to take better control of their own health. Providers will benefit initially from integration with clinical systems across the full range of patient facing services and better communications with patients through the app. As our products and services develop, they also gain from people taking control of their health, wellbeing and medical records.”
Soon to launch, the Evergreen Connect platform will allow patient-entered and patient-held personal health record data to be directly inputted into GP clinical systems. The innovative platform also leverages monitoring plans, patient questionnaires and digital health and wellness coaching.
This fresh streamlined management and delivery of care comes at a significant time, as the pandemic highlighted the positive operational impact of online consultations. Recent data held by NHS England indicates around one third of online consultations are mediated via askmyGP. With GPs experiencing increased demand, particularly with lockdowns contributing to the backlog of chronic care, the online triage capability is especially useful. Evergreen Life continues to promote informed self-care and self-management of long-term conditions via the sharing of clinically referenced and approved wellness information.
Implementation
Existing askmyGP customers can expect the same high standard service and will continue to be supported on the current platform. Harry Longman, current CEO of askmyGP, who will be at the helm of Evergreen Life’s Primary Care Division, says: “Continuity with our existing customers is assured with our existing staff and suppliers, and we’re looking forward to expanding our offer and services in the coming months through the larger group.”
Evergreen Life and askmyGP: A perfect match
Evergreen Health Solutions Ltd, trading as Evergreen Life, was established in 2014 in Manchester by former clinical pharmacist, Stephen Critchlow. As a wellness app and NHS-assured provider of patient facing services with 870,000 users, our aim is to put people in control of their health and wellbeing to get the care they want so they can increase their happy and healthy years. The Evergreen Life app provides a quick and easy way for people to access their electronic medical records and manage their patient services online – such as booking a doctor’s appointment at the tap of a button and ordering a repeat prescription with the option of free home delivery. The app also offers Wellness Check functionality to help people better understand their health, whereby people can take clinically-reviewed questionnaires to improve various aspects of their wellbeing such as sleep, fitness, diet and happiness.
Salvie Ltd, trading as askmyGP, was founded by Harry Longman. Together with strategic change interventions, askmyGP has been utilising online consultation and workflow system to support GPs in managing their caseloads since 2011. Practices using askmyGP receive over 70% of demand online. Last year 82% of patient requests were resolved by email message or telephone at the discretion of the clinician involved.
askmyGP is a customisable and flexible system, supporting practice teams through a range of configuration and implementation options. Teams also have a wealth of first-class analytical information at their fingertips to inform operational decision-making.
Far from simply being a matter of bolt on technology, askmyGP delivers measurable benefits for patients and clinicians and the acquisition will allow us to continue to do the same with potential for more.
