Ruth runs Manchester Half Marathon for Mind

It takes a lot of mental strength and determination to run marathons. Our office manager, Ruth Ilgunas, decided to run the Manchester Half Marathon with just that in mind.

Ruth ran the half marathon last year in support of the British Heart Foundation, and this year wanted to continue to give something back to another charity close to her heart.

Ruth said”I chose to run the Manchester Half Marathon not only as a challenge for myself and to generally increase my fitness, but also in support of Mind, the Mental Health charity. I have friends and family members who suffer or have suffered with mental health issues, some so severely that they have either attempted to or have taken their lives.

Mind do incredible work in raising awareness, improving services and promoting understanding of mental health issues. They offer support to people experiencing a mental health problem and ensure they also get the respect and help that is needed.

I felt it was vitally important to support the great work they do and continue raising awareness of mental health.”

Ruth finished the race in 2 hours 3 minutes and raised over £300 for a fantastic charity. Well done Ruth!
